Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find a list of questions that might be helpful.  I tried to think of just about anything that could be a question, I'm sure I have missed a question or two.  If you have questions that are not listed, please don't hesitate to send me an email (staceybassphotography@gmail.com) or feel free to leave me a message on my Facebook fan page Stacey Bass Photography Facebook Page

*Spending time with my family is very important to me.  Photography is not my main job, I do work elsewhere during the week and I am also a part time stay at home mom to my two kiddos.  That being said I will make every attempt to schedule sessions when you would prefer.  If your first choice of date is not possible, I will work with you to the best of my ability to schedule a date as close to your ideal date as I can.

 How much are sessions?
·Please contact me for session prices. Session prices will include my time and travel (more details about what is included in a session are listed below).  Please note that extra charges may apply if a session location is more than a 30 mile distance from the greater Cincinnati Area.  Please email me at staceybassphotography@gmail.com or leave me a message on my Facebook page wall Stacey Bass Photography Facebook Page with any questions.

Do you charge a sitting/booking fee?
·I do not charge a sitting or booking fee.  However I do ask and require that payment for your session be paid in full at the time of your session.

How long are sessions?
·Typically sessions last 1-2 hours(ish).  Newborn sessions last a bit longer, closer to 2-2 1/2 hours. This will allow for any needed diaper changes, feedings, clothing changes, etc.

What is included when I have a session done?
·You will receive one (1) CD with your images (as stated below) I do guarantee a minimum of 20 images (any black and white images are not factored into the 20 photo minimum), you will also receive one (1) photo release form.  This release will allow you to print the digital photos wherever you like and to also put them on social media sharing sites such as Facebook, all I ask is that you please give me credit for taking the photos.  Doing so by either tagging Stacey Bass Photography (on Facebook) or simply just by mentioning Stacey Bass Photography in the album/image description with my blog web address listed if your are using another social media site.  Just make sure you have the photo release on hand when going to a local printing location (Meijer, Kroger, Walgreens, etc.) just in case someone thinks that you are trying to print your images without my permission.  (See below for my digital printing suggestions)

I'm interested in having a photo session, can I view session availability?
·If you are interested in a session or have a date in mind, take a look at the "Session Calendar" located on the right side column of my page to see my session availability. If you see a date that you are interested in and it has a session already scheduled, don't be discouraged.  It might still be possible to book on that particular day.  Contact me to schedule a session!

What time should our photos be taken?
·The morning hours and the late afternoon/evening before sunset are the best times to typically have your photos done outside.  The exact time will depend on the season.  But the times are not set in stone.  We can shoot whenever works best for you and the others involved in the photo session.  Indoor sessions are available as well.  I do have a flash to help with indoor sessions, but it is typically preferred to work with natural light whenever possible.  It is nice to shoot indoor sessions around a time that the most natural light will be coming into your home or wherever the session is taking place.

Where can sessions take place?
·Any local park (Eden Park, Ault Park, Sharon Woods, Alms Park, etc), Your home (indoors or outside in your yard), the possibilities are pretty endless.  Keep in mind though that some parks do charge an entrance fee.

How many photos can I expect on the photo CD from my session?
·This all depends on the type of session you are doing, how many children, how cooperative your children are, etc.  But I do guarantee a minimum of 20 images on a CD.

When will my photos be available?
·As I stated above, spending time with my family is important to me.  Keeping this in mind, please allow 1-2 weeks for me to get all of your images edited and put onto a CD.  I also usually put a sneak peak up on my Facebook page a day or two after your session.  **You may tag yourself and others on the Facebook sneak peak photos, but please do not alter or crop out the watermark on the photos**

When should newborn sessions be scheduled?
·Newborn sessions should be scheduled preferably within 1-2 weeks after birth.  This is a perfect time to typically photograph newborns, because they usually sleep a lot and still like to be curled up like they were in the womb.  The sleepier the baby is, the more cooperative the baby will likely be.  So it is best to make sure that the baby has a full tummy and is nice and warm and cozy.  Try and schedule your session when you feel as though your baby is the sleepiest or most content.  Newborns (and only newborns) are typically photographed best in their birthday suits.

What about maternity sessions?
·You would typically want to schedule these sessions towards the end of your pregnancy around 7 or 8 months.  This way you can have as much comfort as possible (at that time in your pregnancy) but will also have a pronounced baby bump to photograph by that point in time.

What if my session has to be canceled due to weather issues?
·If your session is canceled due to bad weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule your session for a time that is convenient for you and your family at no charge.

What is included editing wise when I book a session?
·I am able to typically take out any cuts, scrapes, or any bruises that may be present.  I also like to include various black and white photos (along with the color copy) from sessions as well.

Where do you recommend that I get my digital prints from?
·I would first recommend getting your digital photos printed from MPix Lab online (www.mpix.com).  My second recommendation would be Shutterfly Lab online (www.shutterfly.com).  I have used both to have my photos printed, and am a very satisfied customer.  Their turn around times are usually pretty quick and their color calibration appears to be spot on!  Plus Shutterfly is a good place to store/backup your photos, for FREE and its unlimited space!!  A third recommendation I can give is Meijer Photo Lab.  When I get impatient and want my photos within the same day, I usually go to Meijer and have had no major complaints.  You just have to be careful about going to places like Meijer, because sometimes their color calibration can be off, which will end up possibly making your photos too dark or light.

Do you recommend Matte or Glossy finish on my digital prints?
·I am personally a fan of matte finish on any photos that I get printed, but it is your preference as to what you would like finish wise on your photos. I do not do any editing specific to Matte or Glossy.
